F.P HAUVILLE
1932-2011 :
ERLAB Founder, Engineer, Inventor, Entrepreneur

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of our Founder, Francois P. Hauville on December 03, 2011.
Francois P. Hauville founded ERLAB in 1968 and invented in 1970 the world’s first ductless filtering fume hood for the total filtration of toxic gases in laboratories.
Author of 25 international patents in the field of molecular air filtration technology and laboratory equipment design, Francois P. Hauville will forever remain in our history the creator of an entirely new industry changing the landscape with modern laboratory fume hoods designed to protect the person, respect the environment and save the energy associated with the overconsumption of laboratory air caused by the use of traditional ducted fume hoods.
Francois P. Hauville had the foresight to give all who surrounded him the opportunity to grow and today, strengthened by a company culture hinged around innovation and thanks to the deployment of considerable means towards R&D, ERLAB continues to grow and maintains its position as the world leader for ductless filtering fume enclosures with over 100,000 units sold throughout 40 countries.
The spirit of growth and innovation continues under the leadership of his two sons, Stéphane and Antoine, respectively President and CEO and Vice President and General Manager of the ERLAB group since 2009 and of his wife, Marie M. Hauville, cofounder and today honorary Chair of the ERLAB group.
Our more than 150 employees throughout the five ERLAB group companies in France, USA, China, Spain and Malaysia join the board to honor and continue the work of Francois P. Hauville.
Our thoughts are now with his family along with all our employees who will forever remain touched by his unique leadership qualities.
